Our mission is simple: to ensure that everyone, regardless of circumstance, has access to the hope, love, grace, and salvation found in the Word of God. By means of God's enabling with our dedicated distribution biker missionaries, we aim to distribute 8000+ Bibles and Bible-based literacy materials to those living in the hard-to-reach areas of southwestern Africa. Poverty is a reality!

After some additional consultation, we decided a small 4x4 was needed instead of the 2 x KTM 690 Enduro's for the longer more remote trips. It will reduce logistical demands, enable them to carry more Bibles, fuel, water and other supplies. It is safer for the type of terrain and the extreme environment over extended periods.

People Group Being Served
The main grouping of people who will receive Bibles are the Nama communities. They speak Afrikaans and Nama Damara. The Nama (Namaqua) people, an indigenous group from southern Africa, have a history marked by resilience and struggle, particularly against colonization and apartheid.They are spread across present-day Namibia, South Africa and Botswana. The Nama were mainly pastoralists with a long and rich cultural heritage. However, during the 19th and 20th centuries, they faced harsh exploitation under German colonial rule, particularly during the Herero and Namaqua genocide of 1904-1908, where thousands of Nama were killed or displaced.In the years that followed and till today they continue to face marginalization and poverty, compounded by discrimatory policies. Despite these challenges, the Nama people have maintained their cultural identity, interwoven with Christian beliefs that was brought to them by Rhenish and English missionaries.Alcoholism and drug addiction has been on the rise in the Nama communities for many years, especially among the youth. Giving them access to the Word will have the impact to make a difference.Please support and partner with us in prayer!
A motorbike had been a most cost effective way to reach the villages, but as the terrain has become more challenging we have realized the need for a 4x4, as trips are extended deeper into the mountains and desert areas. It is a project that began with one young man who saw the need and was inspired to want to make a difference in the lives of the Nama people. We now have a small team.
It is a special privilege to give a Bible to someone who has never owned one, it offers the life-changing power of God's word through His Son Jesus Christ. Lisette & Leo Reimche organise and coordinate local fellowship groups and camps. She designs and manages ministry based websites, as well as publishing materials. Having been born in Cape Town, this project holds a special place in Lisette's heart.

He is active in relationship building in the region to facilitate entry into the Nama communities. Besides the environmental challenges there are societal complexities to deal with.

Kayo is actively involved in outreach as a trained Bible teacher and goes door-to-door with Kendall to distribute the Bibles and Bible-based literacy materials. He joined our team in September 2025 part-time to assist Kendall in Bible distribution and identify people who want Bible studies. We are working to have him onboard full-time in 2026.

The Back Story
Journey with Bibles began as a project at the end of September 2024, out of a conversation with a young man living in the region. He discovered that Bibles are desperately needed and sought after among the Nama (in the local language).The first task was to raise funds for a motorbike. It is more suitable for traversing the harsh terrain and challenging conditions. It would also keep running costs down. Kendall contributed one-third by selling his small car. I raised the rest through the pop-up thrift and gift store.The project was initially called 1 Year Many Bibles_ while raising funds here locally. We achieved the fundraising goal by the beginning of November. The companies that sponsored did so as once-off gifts.It has taken just shy of a year to get the project fully underway. Progress has been slower than desired. We are now finally gaining some momentum.We do need the word to be put out there about the project, and that is where you can help us, besides monthly support. Our Monthly Gifters, as wel call them, will be brothers and sisters in Christ who understand and see the urgency of, and have the passion for getting Bibles into people's hands.Since beginning this project, word has gotten out to other communities further afield, and a request for Bibles has come in from different regions.There is a thirst for truth in this uncertain world, truths that can only be found in God's Word. Time is short, Jesus is soon to return, let us not hold back in our duty to love and serve.Your Monthly Gifts enables the necessary canvassing of the villages and then the actual Bible rides to distribute. A volunteers vision...
Kendall has requested his real name and information be kept private.After going through a life threatening experience two years ago, Kendall's world view changed and he became more acutely aware of his Christian roots, and the need for being more purposeful.While visiting and spending time with missionary friends in northwestern South Africa, he noticed that Bibles were a scarcity, and very much sought after in the region.The people in these remote Nama villages are not able to buy their own, as most live below the poverty line. Kendall made the decision to raise funds for a motorbike, part of which came from selling his small car. He then would volunteer to ride and distribute Bibles to these marginalized overlooked communities. The distances between the communities range from 80 to 200 kilometers.Kendall raised one third of the funds needed for the motorbike, we assisted in raising the rest, by means of a pop-up thrift and gift store.Giving up one year of his life, as initially thought, or for as long as it takes to complete it, makes this project a worthy endeavour and is commendable, that in this 'me first' world we live in a young man has stood up to make a difference. This project is very much a faith journey for Kendall too. Praise God, for this a young man, let us keep him in prayer.Together and by God's grace, we can make happen!Our dedicated Monthly Gifters will receive quarterly updates to their inbox.Short video clips will be posted to the YouTube Channel monthly. There is much cellular signal disruption at present in the region making it difficult to upload footage regularly.Kendall, has been relocated to Springbok as of the 1 of June to be in the heart of the Nama-Khoi district. Northern Cape from which Kendall, and Kayo with Lorraine's assistance will do the larger portion of the Bible Distribution.
As with all mission projects, Journey with Bibles has to meet a fundraising target to cover the monthly costs.By God's grace and your support, we can keep the project moving forward. Price Range USD $13 500 - $15 000We had initially been looking at the 2 x KTM 690 Enduro R bikes, we have not been able to find suitable bikes and a recommendation was given rather purchase a Suzuki Jimny 1.3 4x4. After prayer and discussion we feel impressed to go with that instead. Our missionary bikers will be able to carry more Bibles, Bible based literacy materials, fuel and water on longer trips. It will provide a haven from the extreme heat and unexpected winds storms. They will still use the bikes they currently have on shorter excursions.
